Skampa, the International Theater Festival of Contemporary is one of the largest international theater events in Albania.

The festival since many years take place  every  autumn  in the cultural traditions city  Elbasan under  the framework “Skampa” and recently years the festival has expanded   and other cities  as Tirana.

ITF-Skampa is considered an annual international competition of confront the contemporary theater values, open to other arts, promoting aesthetic research.  It is a voyage of discovery, an adventure for new artistic concepts to present trends in Albania – the scenic practices international in order to create a space for intercultural dialogue. The program includes seminars, workshops and discussions.

The festival consists of the selection of Albanian and foreign performances.

It accounts about 300 premieres, with a rich variety of theatrical performances and theatrical visions of styles, and over 3500 artists from Albania,  Netherlands,  Italy, Bosnia Herzegovina, Greece, USA, Argentina, Russia, China, Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Chile, Moldavia, Germany, Lithuania , Austria, France, Belgium,North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Monte Negro, England, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Serbia, Poland etc.

The festival atmosphere is intensified by various parallel events such as, workshops, presentations, concerts, exhibitions, meetings and discussions. It is organized in different  venues as Skampa theater, University “A. Xhuvani”, Ethnographic Museum ,Real Scampis Castle –Elbasan / N T Tirana, Theater Metropol Tirana, University of Art.  
The festival is organized by the Albanian Association of Contemporary Theater A.T.K and supported over the years by the Albanian Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Elbasan and various sponsors.
