It is tragic fate of a saxophonist who accidentally kills a friend, ending up in prison, the protagonist that considers the philosophical meaning of his fate, relying on the fatalistic thoughts of Spinoza: “Everything that happened was inevitable, and what didn’t happen was impossible.” The situation of physical incarceration creates a particular need for spiritual freedom, which is what the main character thinks most about. In that sense, he discovers that in prison he most lacked a saxophone, his music that takes him to the elusive field of dreams, a space that is key in the process of confrontation with physical constraints that leads to imagination and freedom proving that spheres of spirituality and art have no boundaries
