Adonis Filipi was born in the old town of Berat, Albania. He graduated in Art at the University of Tirana (College of Arts – Drama) in 1982. During his long and varied theatrical career, Mr. Filipi has become one of the most prominent theater directors in Albania and abroad.
His thought-provoking directions are distinguished for their originality in search of new forms of expression, through the depth of the dramatic premise, where the poetic attitude stands out.
The acoustics of the characters, wrapped in the emotional coloring of the stage material, is conveyed by the contrast of the vibrant movement in emphasis of the visual images, making the work a tangible constellation.

Skampa Theater Festival was founded in 1999 by theater artist Adonis Filipi on a culture tradition site in Center of Albania,Elbasan. Skampa Festival fosters dialogue intercultural on theater ,research in the arts of the stage, providing young and emerging artists with a unique environment for creation and exploration in theater and all its related alternative forms, and developing a strong global network transcending age, experience, social, religious and cultural backgrounds. Skampa promote projects that integrate different genres and art forms, break with traditional forms of representation, and develop democratic and cross-cultural approaches. Skampa is opportunity to facing and sharing this experience with others theater artists.
